In response to the high rate of unplanned teenage pregnancy in central & regional Victoria, The Gianna Centre offers a dynamic and informative series of secondary school workshops.
These relationship education programs for students in years 7, 8, 9 & 10 focus on the development of healthy strategies and decision-making skills for adolescents. Age-appropriate small group activities encourage young people to develop their knowledge and make informed decisions.
The program explores:
- Building self esteem
- Developing your own values
- Formulating goals
- Making decisions
- Looking at the consequences of our behaviour and the choices we make
- Enhancing communication and strengthening relationships
- Understanding development and anatomy
- Sexually transmitted infections
- The impact of pornography
- Understanding social and peer pressure.
The Gianna Centre is an accredited presenter of these programs (fees apply), which is on offer to Government, Private, Christian and Catholic schools throughout Central Victoria. 98% of students who have participated in the programs through The Gianna Centre have cited the program as having had a positive impact on their life.
Presentation of these workshops depends on availability of our trained staff. Early bookings are recommended. Please contact The Gianna Centre Education Team on 0419 496 443 for more information.
